Frequently Asked Questions

What qualifications do I need to start pilot training?

+

No prior flying experience is required for our integrated programs. You need to be at least 18 years old, hold a valid Class 1 medical certificate, and have a high school diploma. English language proficiency (ICAO Level 4 minimum) is also required for EASA training.

How long does it take to become a commercial pilot?

+

Our Integrated ATPL course takes approximately 18 months from zero experience to frozen ATPL. The A320 Cadet Program, which includes a type rating, takes about 20 months. Modular training timelines vary depending on your schedule and chosen modules.

What is the difference between integrated and modular training?

+

Integrated training is a full-time, structured program that takes you from zero to ATPL in one continuous course. Modular training lets you complete individual ratings (PPL, CPL, IR, MEP) at your own pace, which offers more flexibility but typically takes longer overall.

Do you offer financing or payment plans?

+

We understand pilot training is a significant investment. Please contact our admissions team to discuss available payment structures and financing options tailored to your situation.

What aircraft does SAA use for training?

+

SAA operates a modern fleet of glass cockpit Piper aircraft for ab-initio and advanced flight training. Our fleet includes single-engine and multi-engine aircraft equipped with modern avionics to prepare you for airline operations.
