Integrated ATPL FAQ

What is a frozen ATPL?

+

A frozen ATPL (Airline Transport Pilot License) means you have passed all 14 ATPL theoretical exams and hold a CPL with IR and MEP ratings. It becomes "unfrozen" (full ATPL) once you accumulate 1,500 total flight hours, including specific requirements for PIC time and cross-country hours.

How many flight hours are included in the course?

+

The Integrated ATPL course includes a minimum of 195 flight hours as required by EASA regulations. This covers single-engine visual and instrument training, multi-engine training, and crew cooperation (MCC) exercises.

What exams do I need to pass?

+

You must pass 14 ATPL theoretical knowledge exams covering subjects including Air Law, Meteorology, Navigation, Flight Planning, Aircraft Systems, Principles of Flight, Human Performance, and more. SAA provides comprehensive ground school preparation.

Can I work while doing the integrated ATPL?

+

The Integrated ATPL is a full-time course requiring your complete dedication. Unlike the modular route, it is not designed to accommodate part-time work. This intensive structure is what allows completion in just 18 months.
